Company History
Our company started in the 1980s as a subcontracting operation, then became a sole proprietorship in 1996, and in 1998 it was registered with the Pest County Court of Registration under the name Schönwald Metál Alkatrészgyártó Egyéni Cég. In 2003, through a legal transformation, Schönwald Metál Kft. was established as its legal successor.
We specialize in the production of custom, small- and medium-series machined parts.
Alongside our conventional machining equipment, our first mechanically fully refurbished EEN-320 CNC lathe was purchased in 1997. To this day, a large number of parts can still be produced economically on this machine.
In 2000, our machine park was expanded with a new FV-30 CNC milling machine equipped with an NCT control. In 2003, the machine was upgraded with a continuous-control rotary table. At the same time, the drives were replaced with digital ones, and a new control unit (NCT 990M) was installed.
In 2001, we invested in our first bar-fed, parts-catcher, turret-type Tornado A50 CNC lathe.
In 2002, our machine park was further expanded with an SLT-240 bar-fed CNC lathe equipped with a C-axis and driven tools.
Since 2005, machine deburring—better known as the Trowal (vibratory finishing) process—has been available using a CD-200 vibratory tumbler. To complement this, a WP-410 ultrasonic cleaning unit was also purchased.
In 2006, in addition to our measuring microscope, we invested in a new TESA MH 3D coordinate measuring machine.
In 2008, our machine park was expanded with a TB25-YMBC counter-spindle, Y-axis turning center with NCT control.
Our MSZ EN ISO 9001 quality management system was also introduced in 2008.
In 2015–2016, our new facility was built in Nagytarcsa, directly next to the M0 ring road. In our 414 m² production hall, together with the mezzanine, the company now operates on approximately 550 m² of usable floor space.
To meet growing customer demand, in 2018 we purchased a Spinner TC42-MC, and in 2022 a similar but higher bar-capacity Spinner TC400 MC-52, both C-axis, bar-fed CNC lathes. At the end of 2023, our machine park was further expanded with a Spinner MVC610 3-axis CNC machining center.
Our production is now supported by Solid Edge 3D CAD and Edgecam CAM software.
In addition to Hungarian customers, we also serve Austrian, German, and Swiss partners, so the parts we manufacture reach many regions across Europe, and some are found almost all over the world—partly through direct shipments and partly via Hungarian subsidiaries.
The materials we machine include free-cutting, structural, and tool steels, stainless steels (e.g. 1.4104, 1.4301, 1.4305, 1.4541, 1.4571, 1.4404), brass (Sr58), aluminum (e.g. AlMgSi, AlMgSi1, AlCu4PbMgMn, AlSi9Cu3), and various plastics (e.g. PA6, Docamid 6G-H, POM, plexiglass, PTFE).
Typical products include pipe fittings, brazing ends (SKA, DKL, DKOL), adapters, union nuts, parts for pressure regulators and solenoid valves, small-batch custom machine components, parts for lighting equipment, and medical devices.
